Who We Are

We are Benjamin and Vivian Ross. Benjamin is a Licensed Minister with a master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling. Vivian is a Licensed Professional Counselor. We have been married for over 19 years and we know what it’s like to have struggles in your marriage as well as the difficulties that comes with blending your families. Today we work as Co-counselors to help couples and families work through difficulties in their relationships. What makes us unique is that we are always transparent. We don’t always agree, we get angry and we don’t always communicate appropriately afterwards. However, we model a healthy relationship that some couples or families have never witnessed. We will help you get to the healthy family or marriage you want and deserve. We work to remove biases associated with a trying to determine if a male or female therapist would be more appropriate by providing counseling services as a team. You get two counselors for the price of one.

Effective January 6, 2026, we will be providing all sessions via Telehealth. Please contact us for any questions of concerns.

Benjamin Ross

Founder / MA

I am a Licensed Minister and I have a Master of Arts in Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling. I have been counseling for over 20 years. My counseling theory is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. The goal is to change patterns of thinking or behavior that are behind people's difficulties, and so change the way they feel. I work to help adolescents and families discover their functional and faulty thinking, and how it affects their family unit for better or worse. I believe the foundation of a healthy family unit is God, love, and laughter. I have co-counseled with my wife for the past 5 years. I am happy you decided to let me help you reach your own unique family goals.

My approach to therapy draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, tailoring each session to the unique needs and goals of my clients. Whether you're looking to strengthen your voice, heal from loss, improve communication, or find direction, I'm here to walk alongside you with empathy and encouragement. Let’s work together to help you move forward—stronger, more confident, and more connected to your authentic self.

Why Focus on Therapy?

We support individuals, couples, and families through life’s challenges with over twenty years of combined experience. Whether you’re facing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship, or parenting struggles, we provide a safe, non-judgmental space for healing and growth. Our goal is to strengthen emotional well-being, improve relationships, and build resilience at every stage of life.

Services We Provide

Adolescent/Teen Therapy

At times, teens may benefit from therapy on their own. We offer counseling for adolescents to help them build skills that improve their well-being at home, in school, and in social settings.

Christian Counseling

It may seem difficult to find a therapist who understands the struggle between your beliefs and the world. Is it okay for a person to love and trust God but also reach out to a therapist? What about the Pastor? Who can pastors and ministers turn to when they need counseling? At Elephant in the Room Counseling Services, we provide a safe and non-judgmental space for believers to share struggles that they may not feel comfortable discussing within their church. Like anyone, ministers and believers can experience depression, anxiety, and stress. Our goal is to support you in moving forward in the direction God has called you.

Couples Counseling

At Elephant in the Room Counseling Services, we understand that relationships, whether married or cohabiting, come with their unique challenges. Our couples counseling is designed to help you navigate and strengthen your bond. Whether you’re facing marital challenges like communication breakdowns, infidelity, or financial stress, or you’re preparing for a lifelong commitment through premarital counseling, we’re here for you. Additionally, we offer co-parenting support and counseling for families navigating transitions, ensuring that every stage of your relationship is nurtured and strengthened.

Individual Counseling

At Elephant in the Room Counseling Services, we offer personalized individual counseling to support your unique mental health needs. Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, or personal growth challenges, our compassionate therapists provide a safe, confidential space to explore and heal. We tailor our approaches to meet your goals and help you achieve greater well-being and resilience.
